Coinbase released an open-source cryptography library, Kryptology
Coinbase, the fourth-largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world by trading volume, announced on Monday the establishment of Kryptology, a new cryptographic library that would serve as a collection of tools for blockchain developers in the coming months. APIs that are secure, audited, and simple to use, as well as a collection of common issues and lessons acquired throughout the history of cryptography, are among the features.
Without encryption, cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin would be nothing more than digital lines of code that anyone could copy and paste into their own computer. Due to the ease with which it may be replicated and falsified, it would cause serious problems such as money double-spending. In the field of cryptography innovation, one of the most promising areas is the development of privacy coins, which allow users to avoid being tracked by blockchain forensic businesses and to prevent outside players from reading their transaction information. Because of the potential for such technology to promote illegal acts, law enforcement agencies have shied away from implementing it.
